UCSD report

Minutes – UCSD 28500 Students this fall.    Relatively unchanged enrollment

13000 dorm beds by 2011/2012

Milt discussed various building projects on campus.

 

Police report

Captain Chris Ball  is the new captain in Northern Division.

Non 619-531-2000 is the non-emergency number for complaints about vendors at the beach.  Jim Heaton mentioned about an ice vendor parking in the red zone and people parking longer than 15 minutes in the 15 minute parking.  3 minute parking is easier for parking enforcement. – Clearing the parking lots after 10 pm.  Police going on the loudspeaker waking up tenants getting cars to move.    A request was made to just write tickets instead of going on the loud speaker.    We are investigating having a private firm lock the gates like they do in PB.

Treasurer report –

No activity.  1828.03 dollars in the account.


City Council report:

Brush management.  Call Sherri Lightner’s office or 619-533-4444.  Fire hazard adviser line. 619-236-6611 Sherri Lightner’s office. Aug 6th.  COPS  linking the emergency services.  500,000 grant. CERT program.  If you want to get trained in it, call Sherri Lightner’s office. 

 

Chair report:  T&T Bylaws changes.  Chair of T&T must be a member of one of the 5 community groups. Joe Dicks, and Todd Lesser.  Jim Heaton is no longer the rep. Kellogg park ribbon cutting tomorrow between 5 and 8.  Jim would like to change the municipal code to ban Commercial watercraft.  Future agenda item –Parking striping at the beach.

Public Comment:

Large house 8368 Paseo Del Ocaso, Two Story 4,158.  La Jolla Shores Advisor board voted against it.  CPA approved it.

 

LJTT – Todd Lesser – Fall Fest in the shores October 25th, 2009.

LJS Permit review Committee

Approved Cohen residence 8130 La Jolla Shores.

Whitney mixed used project – Almost 100% lot coverage.This project will be heard at next LJSA permit review committee meeting.  Sept 22, nd 4pm. 2202-2206 Avenida De La Playa.   Three story building.

Bikini residence is going in front of the review committee.
